One of my favorite sayings?
“Life is always talking—make sure you’re listening.”
This Mother’s Day, my teacher wasn’t a person. It was my long-ignored, slightly intimidating, weed wacker. For years, I told myself it was too heavy, too loud, too scary. You name it, I said it.
But that morning, I turned to my partner and said, “I’m trying the weed wacker today.” After his jaw came off the floor, I asked for a little support:
- Set it up.
- Show me how.
- Watch me try.
- Walk me through the “what-ifs.”
Ten minutes later, I was slicing through weeds and my excuses. Suddenly, it became a classroom: How could I make this easier? How do I pivot? Where am I overthinking?
Here’s what I learned:
🚫 Stuck stories leave no room for solutions.
✅ Support makes space for possibility.
We all have our “weed wackers”—tasks, conversations, or changes we avoid. So:
What’s a small but mighty step you can take today to clear a path forward?
And who can help plug in the extension cord?
